The Sunshine Vitamin D and Bone Health


Vitamin D is called the sunshine vitamin because our body also makes its own vitamin D when we are exposed to sunlight which is essential for bone health. Our body uses vitamin D to help transport calcium to your bones.
Vitamin D is a fat soluble vitamin. This means that it must be dissolved in oil to be absorbed into the body. Foods such as milk, buttermilk, curds, cheese and eggs contain vitamin D.
